Chef Dane Robertson
Chef Dane Robertson didn't learn to cook in a classroom — he learned at the stove. Raised in Orange County, California, Dane grew up in the kitchen alongside his grandparents and parents, absorbing flavors, techniques, and a deep respect for food before he ever stepped foot in a professional kitchen.
Dane's culinary journey took him and his palate all across America — from the vibrant street food culture of Los Angeles and the coastal flavors of San Diego, to the wild game traditions of Boise, Idaho, and the soulful, rich heritage of Southern Cajun and Creole cuisine.
Entirely self-taught and restaurant-trained across more than a dozen kitchens, Dane worked his way up from slinging burgers to mastering the refined techniques of Italian and French cuisine, while weaving in bold Asian and Latino influences that became his signature voice.
Over 17 years in professional kitchens, Chef Dane has cooked for celebrities, professional athletes, sports teams, and icons of the music industry — executing everything from intimate private dinners to large-scale events for thousands of guests.
In 2016, Dane drove across the United States from Southern California to Virginia Beach — in search of a fresh start, a new community, and a place to build a family. Virginia Beach has been home for over 10 years now. Outside the kitchen, Dane is an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo — disciplines that mirror the discipline, patience, and respect for craft he carries into every meal.
